For the past three years Flex Animation has had the pleasure again of working with prestigious previsualization company Proof Inc. Working across a variety of film and television projects, David Cowles-Brooks worked as a Senior Rigger to help support the talented team of shot artists.
Jurassic World Rebirth (Proof Inc.):
‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ - Universal Studios
For this project David at Flex Animation was required to work on a range of Dinosaurs so that previsualisation could move swiftly. The Tyrannosaurus, Mosasaurus, Titanosaurus, Quetzalcoatlus, the adorable Aquilops and the new mutant Distortus Rex were all worked on by David. He also rigged interesting props like the DNA extraction dart and parachute, the rucksack carrying the Aquilops and dock area for the finale.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (Proof Inc.):
‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ - Warner Bros. Pictures
For this project David at Flex Animation contributed to two key scenes, most notable being when Betelgeuse inflates like a giant balloon. For this David employed layered deformers to allow control over the inflation that would carry over to Unreal engine for previsualisation.
Masters of the Universe (Proof Inc.):
‘Masters of the Universe’ - Amazon MGM Studios
For this project David at Flex Animation assisted early on with Skeletor’s facial performance previsualisation, which was then spearheaded Jeffrey Bryans. David also assisted on Beast Man and rigged Mekaneck with his elaborate extending snake-neck.
Alien Earth (Proof Inc.):
‘Alien Earth’ - FX on Hulu
For this project David at Flex Animation rigged the infamous Eye Midge creature, the Xenomorph and Morrow’s Cyborg Arm for previsualisation. The Eye Midge needed to have the fidelity to cling to Nibs whilst being pushed away with her hands.
Blitz (Proof Inc.):
‘Blitz’ - Apple Original Films
For this Steve McQueen film David at Flex Animation worked on two sequences, the main being a emotional climax on the train tracks. For this David’s knowledge of facial rigging was employed to get the emotion required in previsualisation.
